Who is Mista Reynolds you ask?
He’s a 26-year old Pontiac, MI native, (born DeAndre Reynolds), who is filled with an endless amount of talent awaiting an explosion. Always having a thing for rap music, “Mista” began rhyming in high school during the early 2000′s. Aside from having a God given gift to spit rhymes, the man upstairs also blessed him with another very unique skill; He discovered that skill to be “Writing”.
In 2008, Mista decided to take full advantage of such talents and pursue them full force. His ability to write became more fluent and lethal as he stepped outside of his box from hip hop, and began writing music of other Genre’s. This gift finally had its chance of being displayed as he teamed up with a group of friends, during his collegiate years at Kentucky State University.
From that moment forward, Mista hasn’t missed a beat. Keeping all his musical gifts in tune, he ha continued writing and recording records. After years of recording individual tracks or features, he completed the release of his first Mixtape, “LyriKally Speaking” .(he’s hoping to introduce himself to the game as one of the new emerging stars with plans on sticking around for a while. This mix tape displays a variety of music from things such as, grown & sexy Club Joints, life’s day to day struggles ( he has a 7 year old he’s tryin to support), heavy lyrical content, as well as his hustle from a musician standpoint.
He has big dreams and will not stop grinding until he’s reached them.
His musical influenced are said to be artist such as: Notorious BIG, Nas, 2 pac, Silk, Andre 3000, New Edition, Jagged Edge, Usher, T.I., Drake, Common, Most Def, Jay-Z, J. Cole, Wale, Meek Mill, Rick Ross, Bryan Michael Cox, Ne-yo, and many more.

Interview
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself (who you are/what you do/where you’re from, etc.).
I’m a artist/songwriter from Pontiac, MI. Been in the game for about 5 years now. So far I’ve had opportunity to write for a few big name artist, as well as performing with some of the biggest names today in the industry.
2. What prompted your start for your career path?
Music has always been very influential, not only in my life but in others. What better way to connect with people and get them to understand you than through a song. That and the the response I received from it is what really drove me.
3. Who first recognized your talents and what it meant to you?
2 of my friends from school at Kentucky State really noticed how talented I was and convinced me that if I wasn’t gonna play ball that I definitely need to get back into my music and pursue it full force. It meant a lot because I had no clue they actually paid attention to my music and the passion I had for it.
4. First problem you have come across?
The overall brand building experience lol. Its so hard to get people to listen to your music now a days because everyone’s doing it. Granted everyone isn’t talented so that makes it 10x harder to build your fan base and following.
5. As an up and coming artist what do you think you need to improve on?
I think it would be understanding music and how to be successful doing it. I studied and perfected my craft before seriously jumping into it. It’s been working for me and has opened a lot of doors.
6. How will you make an impact given a chance?
If giving a chance I feel I would make a great and positive impact. Real Hip Hop and R&B has been lost and I kinda bring that 90s but current feel to most of my work. So when people hear my music its easy listening and lets people know that not all artist represent the same thing.
7. Why should people take notice in your work?
I put the quality of the music first! If I don’t feel its right I won’t put it out! I go to the studio and will re-record the same track multiple times before I feel its industry standard and ok to put out! I want to give the people great material and something to respect if they’re taking the time out to listen.
8. How would you define your style?
Unique, yet versatile. Midwest but a raw mixture of the north and a little bit of the southern swag. I’m capable of doing so many things and I’am a SONGWRITER first so I can easily switch it up whenever.
9. What importance do social networks have for you?
Social networks are extremely important. I try an use all networks daily with the overall brand and following building. That’s where the people go for their main source of entertainment so I try to stay in the mix.
10. What message do you hope to send to your fans about your music?
You can be yourself and become successful doing it. You don’t always have to have a commercial song or a catchy track to keep people’s attention. Just do whatever works for you but do it well!
11. How did you find your sense of style?
My sense of style fits my mood and body language, Confident and hardworking is what I want to be known for when my style is notice.
